DIFFERENT TYPES OF MASKING TAPES

Masking tapes are categorized into different types based on the adhesive used in it. Each type has its own properties and uses.

The most common types of masking tape are rubber-based, acrylic-based and silicon-based.

Rubber-based masking tapes

Rubber-based masking tapes are available in both blue and black colors. They are weather resistant and can be removed without leaving any residue on the surface. Rubber based masking tapes are highly versatile and can be used for many purposes such as painting, wall covering etc. They are also known as painter’s tape.

Acrylic-based masking tapes

Acrylic-based masking tapes are available in different colors like blue, yellow, red etc. These tapes do not leave any residue when you remove them from a surface unlike other types of tapes which leave behind a sticky residue after removal from surfaces. Acrylic-based masking tapes are ideal for indoor use because they don’t tear easily like rubber-based masking tapes do under pressure during removal from surfaces such as drywall or plasterboard etc.

Silicon-based masking tape

Silicon-based masking tape is an adhesive that contains silicone resin instead of acrylic resin like in acrylic based masking tapes. Silicon based masking tapes are not UV resistant thus they should not be used outdoors because they will lose their stickiness after prolonged exposure to sunlight which may result in peel off while taping.

HOW TO USE MASKING TAPE EASILY?

Masking tape is very easy to use and can be used for many different things. Masking tape is an excellent choice for temporary repairs and home projects.

You can use masking tape to cover up stains on walls, ceiling, floors and other areas of your home. Masking tape can also be used to cover up holes in walls, doors, windows and more.
