Acrylic-based masking tapes are ideal for indoor use because they don’t tear easily like rubber-based masking tapes do under pressure during removal from surfaces such as drywall or plasterboard etc.

Silicon-based masking tape

Silicon-based masking tape is an adhesive that contains silicone resin instead of acrylic resin like in acrylic based masking tapes. Silicon based masking tapes are not UV resistant thus they should not be used outdoors because they will lose their stickiness after prolonged exposure to sunlight which may result in peel off while taping.
